Co-owner of Leonard H. Trimpe Trucking Company passes
Leona Elizabeth Trimpe, 93, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at Schneck Medical Center on October 22, 2011 at 10:30 p.m. She was born January 24, 1918, in Dudleytown, IN, the daughter of William A. and Anna M. (Wehrkamp) Bobb. She graduated from Dudleytown School and finished her education at Cox School in Dudleytown as an honor student. Leona married Gerald Eckelman in 1940. He died during WWII on July 18, 1944. On April 9,1950 at Pastor Mack’s home she married Leonard “Dick” Trimpe who survives. Leona was a homemaker and also bookkeeper working with Dick as co-owner of Leonard H. Trimpe Trucking Company until their retirement in 1985.
Mrs. Trimpe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Republican Women’s Club and United Way.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; a son, Jeffrey (Kristy) Trimpe; a grandson, Jeffrey “Alex” (Vickie) Trimpe; 2 great grandchildren, Cooper Henry and Ava Page; 2 sisters, Hulda Goecker and Luella (Virgil) Holle and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; 1st husband, Gerald; 1 sister, Hilda Vehslage; 3 brothers, Hank, Eldor and her twin, Lawrence Bobb; and a great grand daughter, Adalyn Elizabeth Trimpe preceded her in death.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. Philip Bloch officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery after the service.
