Mr. Ralph D. Harlow
September 03, 1927 - February 01, 2010
Twenty-seven year Cummins retiree and Life-long Jackson County farmer passes

Ralph D. Harlow, 82, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away in Schneck Medical Center on February 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Harlow was born on September 3, 1927 in the home he lived in most of his life in Jackson County, Indiana, the son of David and Claire (Buhner) Harlow. He was a 1945 graduate of Shields High School. He married Virginia Louise Wandersee in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on February 15, 1953. Ralph farmed all his life on the family farm raising livestock. He did carpentry work for several years and also worked for Cummins Engine Company from 1964 until his retirement in 1991, after 27 years of service.
Mr. Harlow was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a 50-year member of the Jackson-Jennings Farm Bureau Co-op and The Diesel Workers Union. His hobbies included farming, reading, baseball and growing flowers. Ralph especially loved his family and feeding Fancy Cattle.
Mr. Harlow is survived by Virginia, his wife of 56 years; a daughter, Robin Sue Harlow of Seymour; three sons, Larry S. (Juanita) Harlow of Seymour, Stanley D. (Karen) Harlow of West Lafayette, IN and Randy A. Harlow of Brimfield, IL; 2 granddaughters, Rebecca and Rachel Harlow; a step grandson, Scott Sandlin; a step great grandson, Matthew Sandlin and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, 2 brothers, Carl and George Harlow; 1 sister, Dorothy Goetze and a step granddaughter, Rhonda Sandlin precedes him in death.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour, with Rev. Philip Bloch & Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez, officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
