Mrs. Mary Louise Mettert

Mary Louise Mettert, 88, of Anderson, Indiana, formerly of Seymour, passed away at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1:53 a.m. Mary was born on August 25, 1923, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Albert and Jessie M. Gerrard. Mary was married to Wilmer Edwin Mettert on April 1, 1943, in Seymour. He passed away on October 17, 1985. She was a homemaker and active in her church. She moved to Anderson in 1996.
Mrs. Mettert was a member of Westin Baptist Church in Hayden, attended South Meridian Church of God in Anderson where she was active with several bible study groups. She loved playing in the Seymour Seniors Kitchen Band and loved performing as “Willie the clown” visiting local nursing homes. She also loved playing cards, bingo and her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Dennis) Hercamp, and a son, Stephen (Connie) Mettert; 4 grandchildren: Karen (Jem) Poplin, Stephen (Tricia) Mettert, Jr., Ritchie (Jennifer) Mettert and Eric (Jennifer) Mettert; 6 great grandchildren: Kimberly & Anna Cox, Benjamin & Kathryn Gray and Clayton & Hayden Mettert.
Her parents, husband, a grand daughter, Linda Cox; half brother, Buddy and half sister Virginia preceded her in death.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held at 10: 30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery, after the service.
