Mr. Welton E. Alberring

Welton E. Alberring, 68, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at Schneck Medical Center, Monday, January 2, 2012 at 9:20 a.m. Welton was born on February 27, 1943, in Seymour, IN, the son of Lawrence Edward and Josephine Marie (Hehman) Alberring. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1961 and in 1962, joined the Indiana National Guard and served from 1962 through 1968. Welton married Carolyn Sue Dettmer on June 18, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, White Creek. He was co-owner of Alberrings Garage, Inc. and owner of Alberring Farms.
Mr. Alberring served on several boards and held various positions at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Hand Bell Choir at Immanuel.
He is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 44 years; a daughter, Karen (Larry) Abbott; a son, Kevin (Jennifer) Alberring; 5 grandchildren: Evan & Chloe Abbott and Trevor, Ethan & Adam Alberring; a brother, Duane (Kathy) Alberring and 2 nephews, Jason (Kalee) Alberring & Dustin Alberring.
His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Ralph Blomenberg, Philip Bloch, James Rodriguez and Vicar Martin Dressler officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion #89, V. F. W. #1925, D. A. V. #47 and Viet Nam Veterans #7, all of Seymour at Riverview Cemetery after the service.
