Vincent Leroy Kellogg, 83, Columbus, passed away at 7:42 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1926, in Chanute, Kan., he was the son of Harley W. and Evelyn A. Lundine Kellogg.
He was a 1945 graduate of Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Okla., and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Vincent was married to Elva Jean Burdick on May 6, 1951, in Edmond, Okla.
He was employed as a meter technician for Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. for 25 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, Vincent and his wife, Jean, traveled with the Work & Witness program for The Church of the Nazarene. They went on several mission trips, including building a mission in Puerto Rico and a church in Belize, South America, and helped distribute Bibles for Gideons International. They then traveled the world with friends Bob and Irma Clifton, visiting seven different countries.
Mr. Kellogg was a member of Calvary Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Columbus, Gideon International Jail Ministry and a past member of 32 years of First Church of the Nazarene in Seymour. He received three Distinguished Service Awards from the Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elva Jean Kellogg, Columbus; two daughters, Sue (Bill) Loughmiller, Brazil, and Nancy (Dave) Carothers, Columbus; one son, Vince (Brenda) Kellogg, Baytown, Texas; six grandchildren, Jon (Sarah) Russell, Megan (Jeremy) Russell-Palm, Jessica (Brian) Crane Powell, Chris Loughmiller, Carol Santos and Angela Wolf; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Stanley) Robinette and Dorothy Colman; and one brother, John (Helen) Kellogg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Harley W. Kellogg Jr.; and two grandsons, Nathan and Kyle Carothers.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 5400 Rocky Ford Road in Columbus, with Pastor Shane Rocker officiating and the Rev. Jim Hudson assisting.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
