Mildred Ida Elisabeth Hall, 89, of Seymour, Indiana, peacefully entered eternal life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the Lutheran Community Home, on January 11, 2012 at 4:28 p.m., while surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was born on February 15, 1922, in Brownstown Township, Jackson County, IN, the daughter of Martin Georg Heinrich and Kate Louisa Christophel Sierp Waldkoetter. Mildred married James Ellsworth Hall on October 12, 1941 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2011.
She was a homemaker, but also worked at several jobs throughout the years at Dicksons, the Shirt Factory and Morgan’s Packing Company. During World War II, she contributed to the war effort by working at an Army Case factory. Mildred enjoyed flea markets, auctions, baking, sewing, scrapbooking and playing cards, but especially loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Hall was a charter member of Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour and a past member of Zion Ladies Aid Guild and Social Club and the Lutheran Child and Family Services Auxiliary. The Jackson County Historical Society recently honored Mrs. Hall for being a descendant of the Sierp family founding fathers.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Susan (Jeff) Meier and Janet (Ron) Johnson; 5 grandchildren: Rachael (Adam) Ward, Michelle Meier, Jennifer Johnson, Kimberly (Luke) Cash and Jim Johnson; 4 great grand children: Shay & Maycie Ward, Trey & Levi Cash; a brother, Clifford (Kathryn) Sierp and a sister, Margaret Lambring, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband and best friend of 69 years, brother; Herbert Sierp, sister; Esther Topie, nephews; Terry Sierp, Joey Brasher, Lee Brasher and a great grandchild.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Lutheran Community Home Chapel and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour, after the service.
