Local Physician/Radiologist passes

Paul E. Schneck, MD, 87, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at his home on September 03, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Paul was born on January 24, 1923, in Seymour, the son of Charles Wesley and Laura Willman Schneck. He was a 1941 graduate of Shields High School. Paul also graduated from Indiana University and IU Medical School in 1949 and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was married to Polly Montgomery, on December 19, 1948, in Seymour. He interned at Wisconsin General Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin and Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. His Pediatric residency was served at Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY and his Radiology residency at Louisville General Hospital. Dr. Schneck was a life member of the Jefferson County Medical Society. He served in the United States Air Force as a captain, stationed at the U.S.A.F. Hospital, Wiesbaden, Germany. Paul was a member of Brownstown Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by Polly, his wife of 61 years; 3 daughters: Emily (Alfred) Glossbrenner, of Yardley, PA, Ellen (Jon) Meyer, of The Woodlands, TX and Mary (Don) Kelchner, of Waconia, MN; a son: David Schneck of Louisville, KY; 8 grandchildren: Chris Houston, Scott (Amy) Houston, Brian (Lea) Houston, Katie Meyer, Sarah Meyer, Jennifer Meyer, Holly Ann Kelchner and Matthew Kelchner; a sister, Mary Lou Medlicott, of Cincinnati, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and a daughter, Sarah Houston, on February 22, 2010, preceded him in death.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Brownstown Presbyterian Church, 417 North Elm Street, Brownstown, IN, with Rev. Brad Napier, officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Burkholder Funeral Chapel, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
