Dorothy C. Nentrup

February 25, 1933 - October 26, 2019

Dorothy C. McIntire Nentrup of Crowley, TX, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2019, at Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South in Burleson, TX. Dorothy was born on February 25, 1933, in Jennings County, Indiana, to Emerson McIntire and Margaret Kleber McIntire. Her mother died on March 3, 1933, of scarlet fever, which was related to complications from the childbirth. Her brother Leo and her were raised by her grandmother, Carrie Foist Kleber, on a farm in Indiana during the Great Depression and World War II. Her father passed away when she was 7, on January 31, 1940, due to a tragic logging accident. On August 4, 1951, she married the love of her life, Walter Nentrup Jr. She raised four children, Dennis, Cindi, Tim and Kathy. His career as an engine repair superintendent in the Air Force took them around the world, including Japan, Okinawa and Thailand. Her husband passed away on May 1, 1979, due to complications of cancer. Dorothy then became a filing clerk at Houston General Insurance Company, where she retired in 1996. In the 1980s to 2000s, she helped raise her granddaughter, Sarah. Dorothy loved gardening, romantic novels, baseball games and Hallmark movies. Dorothy was an incredible woman, who is survived by son, Dennis Nentrup and wife, Joy; daughter, Cindi Kinman and husband, Richard; son, Timothy Wolfe and wife Cheri; daughter, Katherine Nentrup-Jager and husband, Scott; granddaughter, Sarah Thomas and husband Sean Williams; granddaughter, Laura Nentrup; grandson, Nicholas Nentrup; grandson Shelby Nentrup; and great-grandson, Cameron Nentrup. She was a wonderful woman, whom we all will miss. An open viewing will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on October 29, 2019 at Greenwood Funeral Homes and Cremation, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, November 1, 2019, at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274 with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Concluding Services and interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
